Rural, Racism... Do we need a purge? Do we need some bloodshed? Because increasingly I'm starting to get a feeling some skulls need to be cracked for these cowardly to stop being so loud... I miss the 90ties... People were stupid in private then.

Great article even though the subject is like pulling nails... Thanks KK for publishing, and thank you Emma for the article!

We visit the UK at least once or twice a year since living there in the mid-1990’s. London has become a coarser and much more brutal place. Recently, I was even shoved off a subway car as I wasn’t making my way off fast enough- pushed hard from behind. I am in my 60’s so it was a bit of a jolt, just glad I didn’t land on my face. Yes, I am the old white lady Monte Don wants out of the way. * Now when we go back, we try to avoid London and travel the countryside...even with woke seeping in it’s still a bit gentler on the body and soul.

* re: gardening & farming - Over the ages people have had very romantic views of gardening and farming. It looks good so it must be easy to do - no? When in fact, it's work. Many people don't realize how much work it is. I live in the Connecticut countryside, where just down the road a bunch of kids in their 30's piled into start a beer company. It's turned out to be a rather successful brand. That said, they started to grow hops but then realized it was difficult - harvesting and getting rid of the waste material from beer making (they are smelling up the nearby properties to much complaint). They now buy their hops from 'real farmers'. They also started with chicks, turkeys and pigs but eventually gave up on them as well. It was difficult. Now they just buy a bunch of chicks annually for eggs and then slaughter them at the end of the season instead of keeping them year around like REAL local farmers do. No one is stopping YOUNG PEOPLE, PEOPLE of COLOR or of varied GENDERS from gardening. Tell me who is??? Or perhaps it's just that they aren't really into the idea of working the land - which requires lots of dedication and hard physical work. The dirt and soil doesn't know the difference between skin colors.....
